Summer School 2007 is a success

10th Sep 2007

Learning coaches from all areas of Wales attended Summer School at the University of Glamorgan in July and August.

Some were catching up on modules they had missed earlier in the year and others were taking advantage of a last-minute offer by the Welsh Assembly Government to start the course from scratch, completing all five modules during the fortnight.

Feedback from the course was very positive. Comments included:

“On the whole a thoroughly enjoyable experience – I was kept well informed and catered for.”

“The course was well organised. Staff and deliverers of modules were approachable and helpful.”

“Attending the course has enhanced my knowledge and hopefully this will impact on my role as a learning coach.”

“I really enjoyed the course.”

I hope that everyone took something positive away from the course.

I love the comment about being ‘well catered for’, I think that this relates to the 10 days of buffet that we arranged - you really can overdose on sandwiches and orange juice!

Especially well done to our colleagues who stayed at the University halls of residence - how did you find the student accommodation?
I think that the student’s union was thoroughly checked out, but no comment on the salsa dancing!!!!!!!

Equally well done tho’ to the locals who travelled every day, and trekked through the Uni from the student car park (except Lynne and John - you know who you are). Not too much fun trekking through the rain of the first week!

Post up - or let me know your thoughts on the 2 weeks, and any suggestions for improvements - although NO, we cannot have summer school in Barcelona in the future!
